Royal Jordanian

Royal Jordanian Airlines, founded in 1963 as Alia, The Royal Jordanian Airline, and renamed in 1986, is the flag carrier of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Headquartered in Amman, the airline operates its hub at Queen Alia International Airport. Royal Jordanian is a member of the oneworld alliance, the only Middle Eastern carrier in the alliance alongside Qatar Airways. The airline's fleet consists of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner for long-haul routes, Airbus A321neo and Airbus A320 for medium and short-haul services, and Embraer E175 and E195 for regional routes. The airline's cabin products include Crown Class business with lie-flat seats on the Dreamliner, and Economy Class. Royal Jordanian serves destinations across the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Asia, with a strategic focus on connecting traffic between the Levant region and global destinations. The Royal Plus frequent flyer program offers earning and redemption across oneworld partners. Jordan's geographic position at the crossroads of the Middle East gives the airline a niche role connecting markets that larger Gulf carriers may not serve directly. Royal Jordanian is majority owned by the Jordanian government. The airline has faced financial challenges due to regional instability and competition from the larger Gulf carriers, but has maintained operations through fleet optimization and route rationalization. The carrier is known for its warm Jordanian hospitality and serves as an important link for tourism to historic sites including Petra and the Dead Sea.
