Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian Airlines, founded in 1929 as Inter-Island Airways, is the flag carrier of Hawaii and the oldest US carrier to have never had a fatal accident. Headquartered in Honolulu, the airline operates its hub at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Hawaiian's fleet includes Boeing 717 aircraft for inter-island services within Hawaii, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners for long-haul routes, and Airbus A321neo aircraft for US mainland and international routes. The airline serves destinations across the US mainland, American Samoa, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and other Pacific Rim markets. Hawaiian offers First Class on its wide-body aircraft with lie-flat seats, Extra Comfort seating with additional legroom, and Main Cabin. The airline's in-flight experience reflects Hawaiian culture with tropical-inspired cuisine, Hawaiian language announcements, and themed entertainment programming. The HawaiianMiles loyalty program offers Pualani Gold and Pualani Platinum elite tiers. Hawaiian Airlines was acquired by Alaska Airlines in 2024, though it continues to operate under its own brand. The combined Alaska-Hawaiian network creates the fifth-largest US airline by revenue, with complementary route networks linking Alaska's West Coast strength with Hawaiian's Pacific island and transpacific routes. Hawaiian does not belong to any global airline alliance but benefits from Alaska's oneworld membership through partnership agreements.
