Emirates

Emirates, founded in 1985 and headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the largest airline in the Middle East and one of the world's most prominent long-haul carriers. The airline operates its hub at Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest airports globally by international passenger traffic. Emirates serves over 150 destinations across six continents, with a particular emphasis on connecting traffic flowing between Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas through Dubai. The airline's fleet is uniquely composed entirely of wide-body aircraft, operating over 250 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Emirates is the world's largest operator of the Airbus A380, the double-decker superjumbo, and has placed orders for Boeing 777-9 aircraft for fleet renewal. The airline's cabin products include First Class suites with enclosed cabins, onboard shower spas, and a bar lounge on the A380, Business Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy introduced in 2022, and Economy Class. Emirates' in-flight entertainment system, ice, has won numerous awards for its extensive content library of over 6,500 channels. The Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program offers four tier levels and extensive partnership options. Emirates does not belong to any global airline alliance, preferring bilateral agreements to maintain scheduling flexibility. The airline is wholly owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, a government entity. Emirates also operates SkyCargo, one of the world's largest cargo carriers, utilizing dedicated Boeing 777F freighters alongside belly cargo capacity on passenger flights.
