Air Europa

Air Europa, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Llucmajor, Mallorca, Spain, is the third-largest Spanish airline after Iberia and Vueling. The airline operates its hub at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, with seasonal operations from Palma de Mallorca. Air Europa is a member of the SkyTeam alliance. The airline's fleet includes Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner for long-haul routes, Boeing 737-800 for domestic and European services, and Embraer E195 for regional routes. Air Europa's cabin products include Business Class with lie-flat seats on the Dreamliner fleet, offering direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 configuration, and Economy Class. The airline operates an extensive long-haul network from Madrid to the Americas, with particular strength on routes to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, where it competes directly with Iberia. Air Europa also serves European destinations and the Canary Islands. SUMA is the airline's loyalty program with SkyTeam earning and redemption. IAG, the parent company of Iberia and British Airways, has pursued the acquisition of Air Europa over several years, with the transaction subject to European Commission regulatory scrutiny over competition concerns on routes between Spain and the Americas. Air Europa is owned by the Globalia Group, one of Spain's largest tourism and travel conglomerates.
