Iran Air

Iran Air is not a member of any airline alliance. International sanctions have historically limited the airline's ability to form partnerships with global carriers. Iran Air operates independently as the Iranian flag carrier with a focus on connecting Iran with regional and select European destinations.

Iran Air's primary hub is Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) in Tehran. The airline also operates domestic services from Tehran Mehrabad Airport (THR) and connects major Iranian cities including Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, and Tabriz with international destinations.

Iran Air offers Business Class and Economy Class on its fleet. The airline has undergone fleet modernization with Airbus A330 aircraft for long-haul routes, while older aircraft serve domestic and regional routes. No alcoholic beverages are served inflight in compliance with Iranian regulations.

Economy Class passengers on Iran Air international flights typically receive one free checked bag up to 23 kg. Business Class includes two bags at 32 kg each. Domestic flights include one checked bag of 20 kg for Economy passengers.

Iran Air was founded in 1944 and is one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East. The airline previously operated a large international network and was among the first to order the Boeing 747. International sanctions have significantly impacted its fleet modernization and route network over the decades, though the airline continues to serve key international routes to Europe and Asia.
