Yakutia Airlines is not a member of any airline alliance. The Russian regional carrier operates independently, serving remote communities in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and other parts of the Russian Far East. The airline is owned by the Republic of Sakha government.

Yakutia Airlines' primary hub is Yakutsk Airport (YKS) in the capital of the Sakha Republic. The airline connects Yakutsk with Moscow, other Russian cities, and remote Siberian communities that are often inaccessible by road for much of the year.

Yakutia Airlines operates Business Class and Economy Class on its Sukhoi Superjet 100 and Boeing 737 aircraft. Regional services to remote communities may use smaller aircraft with a single Economy cabin configuration.

Yakutia Airlines Economy passengers typically receive one free checked bag of 20 kg on domestic Russian flights. Business Class allows up to 30 kg. Baggage policies may vary by route and aircraft type, particularly on regional services.

The Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is the largest subnational entity in the world by area, and many communities lack year-round road access due to extreme cold and vast distances. Yakutia Airlines provides lifeline air service to these communities, operating in some of the most challenging weather conditions in aviation, with winter temperatures regularly dropping below minus 50 degrees Celsius.
