Air Foyle

Air Foyle did not belong to any airline alliance. The British cargo and charter airline operated independently, specializing in freight operations and government contracts. Air Foyle ceased operations in 2004 after its partnership with Antonov Airlines ended.

Air Foyle was based at Luton Airport (LTN) in England. The airline operated cargo charter flights worldwide, particularly known for its partnership with Antonov Airlines using Antonov An-124 Ruslan heavy lift aircraft for outsized cargo transport.

Air Foyle specialized in cargo charter operations, most notably marketing and operating Antonov An-124 Ruslan aircraft under a joint venture with Antonov Airlines. The airline handled oversized and project cargo that could not be transported by standard freighter aircraft.

Through its partnership with Antonov Airlines, Air Foyle had access to some of the largest cargo aircraft in the world, including the Antonov An-124 capable of carrying up to 150 tonnes. The airline also operated its own smaller fleet for standard charter operations.

Air Foyle ceased operations in 2004 after its marketing partnership with Antonov Airlines was dissolved. The airline had been the Western marketing agent for Antonov's heavy-lift An-124 fleet since 1989. Following the split, Antonov Airlines continued operations directly until the Russia-Ukraine conflict impacted its fleet.
