Transaero Airlines

Transaero Airlines was not a member of any major airline alliance. The Russian carrier operated independently as Russia's second-largest airline after Aeroflot until it ceased operations in 2015 due to financial difficulties. Transaero had codeshare agreements with several international carriers.

Transaero's primary hub was Domodedovo International Airport (DME) in Moscow. The airline operated a large network from Moscow to domestic Russian destinations, European cities, and long-haul routes to the Americas and Asia.

Transaero offered Imperial Class (First), Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy on its Boeing 747 and 777 aircraft. The airline was known for operating a large fleet of Boeing 747s, making it one of the largest 747 operators outside the traditional legacy carriers.

Transaero Economy passengers received one free checked bag up to 23 kg on international flights. Business Class included two bags at 32 kg each. Imperial Class provided generous baggage allowances consistent with first-class products.

Transaero Airlines ceased operations in October 2015 due to mounting debts exceeding $4 billion. A proposed merger with Aeroflot failed, and the airline's operating certificate was revoked. Transaero's collapse was attributed to aggressive expansion, the weakening Russian ruble, and declining demand during the 2014-2015 Russian economic crisis.
