Aeromexico, founded in 1934 as Aeronaves de Mexico and headquartered in Mexico City, is the flag carrier of Mexico and a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance. The airline operates its primary hub at Mexico City International Airport, one of the busiest airports in Latin America, with secondary operations from Monterrey and Guadalajara. Aeromexico's fleet includes Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner for long-haul routes, Boeing 737 MAX 8 and MAX 9, and Embraer E190 aircraft for domestic and regional services. The airline's cabin products include Clase Premier business class with lie-flat seats on wide-body aircraft and Clase Turista economy. Aeromexico operates AM Plus, a premium economy product with additional legroom. The Salon Premier lounges at Mexico City and other major airports serve business class passengers. Club Premier is the airline's loyalty program, offering SkyTeam earning and redemption. Aeromexico serves destinations across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, with a significant cross-border operation to US cities with large Mexican diaspora communities. The airline maintains a joint venture with Delta Air Lines for transborder services between the US and Mexico. Aeromexico filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020 and emerged in 2022 under Apollo Global Management as a major shareholder. The airline has invested in fleet renewal, with the Boeing 737 MAX replacing older Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft.
